Question about Go Round tickets for excursions with the Costa Smeralda

Hi everyone! We’ve booked a cruise on the Costa Smeralda for early November 2025 (ports of call: Barcelona, Cagliari, Naples, Civitavecchia-Rome, Genoa). This is our first cruise, so I need your help for some sightseeing tips. I checked Costa’s website for excursions, but the prices are pretty steep! I saw that it’s possible to get a Costa Go Round ticket with multiple stops—this seems really practical for some destinations. Has anyone tried it? How does it work? Is it useful for seeing several sites in the city? If you have any tips for sightseeing without blowing our budget for 3 people, I’d love to hear them. Thanks so much! :)

hi, In Barcelona, there’s a city bus for 4.5 € right by the ship, Cagliari and Naples are in town too. If you’re heading to Rome, first there’s a free shuttle to get you out of the port and to Civitavecchia. In April, we took a shuttle for 25 € round-trip from the city to Rome—departure at 9:30 AM, return at 3:45 PM, and the stop was near Termini Station. Genoa is also in town. I found their Go Round fare a bit pricey, though.

What’s expensive on a cruise:

The drinks—you don’t drink what you pay for. Water is 4 € for a large bottle and 2.5 € for a small one. At any grocery store in port, it’s way cheaper.

Evening aperitifs and wine at the table every night—1 bottle (for 6 adults). Add the 11 € per day per person (some agencies forget this detail). Have a great first cruise! marschat
