Quebec: Living There and Finding a Job

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to spend two years in Quebec and have secured a visa that allows me to live there for that long. I’m currently looking for a job. Would anyone have any leads on how to approach companies from France? I’m based in Paris and am looking for work in IT (Data Analyst, etc.). For example, could the Canadian embassy in Paris connect me with companies? Do you think it’s possible to move to Canada and find a job once I’m there?

it seems quite difficult. You really need to prospect in person, unfortunately. Employers prefer candidates who are already on-site for interviews. So once you arrive, you’ll need to start looking. Check out sites like Workopolis, Indeed.ca, etc. A big engineering firm to apply to: SNC Lavalin

no point—you’ll just get turned away. They’ll tell you it’s up to you to find a job. Personally, I’d recommend Toronto over Montreal.
