Hi, It's like VF for Voyage Forum. KL, in this context, is Kuala Lumpur. 🙂

Hi, have you done a search? I think this topic may have already been covered. In Kuala Lumpur, take the MRT metro and get off at Titiwangsa. Make sure to exit on the right side because there’s a bridge that crosses the road. Once at the bus station—which is small compared to Pudu Raya—ask for a bus to Jerantut. The journey takes 2-3 hours. Once in Jerantut, take a shared taxi to Kuala Tahan village, just across the river. The park headquarters is right in front. You’ll need to pay a daily entrance fee. There’s a small shop that sells a map of the park. In Kuala Tahan, there are a few budget guesthouses.

Another alternative is to go to Kuala Lipis at the jetty and from there take a motorboat down the Kuala Tembeling River. Otherwise, in some plazas like Plazat Rakyat, there are sometimes travel agencies offering tours to the park.

Hi Matthews,

Thanks so much for all this info!

I’d seen that it’s possible to go KL > Jerantut and then take a boat from Jerantut to Kuala Tahan.

Can you confirm if this is still an option and a good one?

I’m struggling to find info on schedules and prices for the buses to Jerantut and the boats after that. From what I’ve gathered, the last boat from Jerantut to Kuala Tahan leaves around 12 PM or 1 PM.

Really, I’d prefer to do part of the trip by boat rather than taking a bus/van the whole way.

I hadn’t heard anything about Kuala Lipis...

Thanks! 😊👍🏽

Hello! I’d seen that it was possible to go KL > Jerantut and then take a boat from Jerantut to > Kuala Tahan. Do you confirm that this is also possible and a good option?

I can’t confirm it, but yes, there are definitely travel agencies in Jerantut or shared taxis that organize this.

I’m struggling to find info on schedules and fares for the buses to Jerantut and the boats afterward. I think I read that the last boat from Jerantut to Kuala Tahan leaves at 12 PM or 1 PM.

For the boat schedule, I think that’s about right. For the buses from KL to Jerantut, there should be a departure roughly every hour. However, the boats don’t leave from Jerantut—they leave from Kuala Lipis, which is what I mentioned in my first post. From what I remember, the bus company is Pahang Express.

You’ve got two options from KL to Jerantut—no train or flight choices, just buses. Either head to the bus terminal at Jalan Pekeliling (city center) or the main bus terminal at TBS. Get to Jalan Pekeliling via MRT or to TBS via LRT, KTM, and KLIA Transit. I often use easybook.com to buy bus tickets.

There’s also the tourist bus that leaves from Chinatown (more expensive). Check out NKS Travel or Han Travel.

exactly yes, there's also Han Travel. For the return trip, I took one of their buses.
