Singapore Airlines Pricing

Hi everyone! It feels really strange to be back on Voyage Forum after such a long time.

A quick question for the pricing experts out here 😉

I’ve been running some simulations for a Singapore Airlines flight, and I found THE perfect one for me! But here’s the thing: the simulation for 1 passenger is 978 €, and for 2 passengers, it jumps to 2,208 €. Where do those extra 252 € come from?

Yeah, I know I could book two separate reservations...

It’s up to you to decide if you're feeling lucky or not. If you book 2 seats, the price drops to 1,104 € per person. But if you grab what’s likely the last seat at 978 €, there’s no guarantee the second one will still be available at 1,104 €. Where did you do your search? On the Singapore Airlines website or through an online agency? Otherwise, if you go to a physical travel agency near you, they can handle two separate bookings and put them on hold to secure the total price.

I always book directly with the airlines—in this case, Singapore. I actually thought about a last-minute deal or a second ticket at a different price, but I think Singapore Airlines is being sneakier than that. Even when choosing other flights on different dates, this surcharge still applies. Thanks for your reply.

I did a few simulations. The lowest fare should be Economy Lite, the other one Economy Value, and I managed to get two Economy Lite tickets, so I don’t think there’s any "tricky" deal going on. Just the last seats in a promotional category.

When I booked with them (directly) for Australia, I ran into a similar issue—or nearly so (an online payment problem that wouldn’t go through). I contacted the airline by phone (you’ve got to be patient), and the sales advisor matched both flights at the same, more advantageous rate. Worth a try?

Hi, Like many airlines, prices are based on the number of seats available. In your case, there’s only one seat left at that price, so the other one moves up to the next price tier. The more the plane fills up, the higher the prices go. However, if seats aren’t sold within a month of departure, prices can drop significantly—sometimes by up to 50%. It happened to me recently with another airline.
