Transportation options on Aegina (Greece)

I’m heading to Athens at the end of June. I’ve planned a day trip to the island of Aegina. That said, I’d love to hear if anyone has gotten around the island by bike or bus? What’s the traffic like there? We’re also considering a scooter, but since we’ve never ridden one before, it’s making me a bit nervous…

Hi Mathilde, yes, I did travel to Aegina by bus a few years ago now. No issues at all. You can find the schedules here. I wouldn’t recommend renting a scooter if you’re not used to riding one. There’s a bit of traffic, and the Greeks can be unpredictable drivers—probably not ideal for a first-time rider. Catherine
