Red Rock Park New Mexico

Hi there! 😊 - About fifteen kilometers from Gallup, where we’re stopping, there’s a small state park: Red Rock Park. Two hikes are catching my eye: Pyramid Rock Trail (229 m elevation gain, 5.5 km, 1h45) Church Rock Trail (78 m elevation gain, 3.5 km, 1 hour) Has anyone been there? And if so, which one would you recommend? Thanks for your replies and have a great rest of your afternoon! Marcalamar :)

I don’t know it, but I’d say 9 km for both hikes—you can do both ;)

You’re traveling to an area that isn’t super well-known, but that’s a good thing—be sure to give us an update! ;)

Hi there! 🙂 I’ll definitely post an update at the end of the year. We’ll be in the last third of our road trip, and my husband’s the only one driving, so I’m not sure he’ll want to do both back-to-back coming from Albuquerque. They’re listed as moderate hikes—we’ll see how much energy we’ve got once we’re there! 😉 Thanks for your post!!! Marcalamar 🙂

Well, in this kind of situation, I always do the longest hike first... Then I see if I'm still up for the shorter of the two hikes. 😉

Great idea!!! 😉 Especially since we often walk slower than the indicated time, especially when it's uphill!!! I'll suggest it to them!!! Thanks for the tip!!!
