Review of Wondercruises Agency

Hi there,

Does anyone know the agency "Wondercruises" based in Belgium?

I came across a (really interesting) cruise on the Mein Schiff 4, and apparently, no French agencies sell Mein Schiff cruises. After several searches online, only Wondercruises and Seascanner work with them.

The advantage of Wondercruises is that they’re partners with "Flying Blue," and you can earn miles.

I love a good challenge, so why not try out this company—it seems pretty solid!

Thanks ALfred I had actually gone to that page with all the companies' terms and conditions, but I hadn’t noticed you had to click on their name again. Anyway, keeping at least 40% for any cancellation is unacceptable—even worse than Cruiseline’s general terms! For me, that’s an immediate deal-breaker. 😠

You have to go through a German agency. I haven’t tried it yet because mein Schiff doesn’t like solo travelers.

After some research, the rates and terms and conditions are identical to Seascanner.

The cruise deposit consists of a 25% deposit of the cruise fare for the PRO fare, 30% for the PLUS fare, and 35% for the PUR fare, based on the total cruise fare for the cabin.

The cancellation scale is calculated as follows: Up to 50 days before departure: 25% (Pro) / 30% (Plus) / 35% (Pur) From the 49th to the 30th day before departure: 30% (Pro) / 40% (Plus) / 45% (Pur) From the 29th to the 24th day before departure: 40% (Pro) / 50% (Plus) / 60% (Pur) From the 23rd to the 17th day before departure: 60% (Pro) / 70% (Plus) / 80% (Pur) From the 16th day before departure: 80% (Pro) / 85% (Plus) / 90% (Pur) In case of no-show or cancellation on the day of departure: 95% (Pro) / 95% (Plus) / 95% (Pur)

The Gold and Visa Premier cards do cover purchases abroad, as long as you pay the full amount with the same card.

I totally agree with you about the cancellation terms, but sometimes you just have to take a risk... We'll see!

You know, last year I booked a cruise with Princess (the Pacific Islands) and had to pay the full amount at booking. The terms were even worse (meaning if I canceled, I’d lose all the money I’d paid). I can tell you I wasn’t at ease until the day of departure.
