Which hotel to choose in Lyon's 5th arrondissement?

Looking for advice on staying in Lyon for 3 days in a hotel in the 5th arrondissement—affordable but safe and clean. In October 2025.

Hi, Hotels in the 5th are expensive—there’s a great youth hostel up in the 1st arrondissement (PILO). Why the 5th specifically?

Lyon's 5th arrondissement is a good area to stay if you're looking at the Vieux Lyon and Fourvière zones. The 5th arrondissement stretches all the way to Menival and Champvert, but those areas are too far out for sightseeing.
