Taking out travel insurance after buying transport tickets

Hi there. I’m reaching out to ask for your advice about travel insurance for my trip.

I bought Eurostar tickets back in January, but I forgot to take out travel insurance right away.

I’d like to get multi-risk travel insurance now, but most insurers say you have to sign up within 48 to 72 hours after buying your transport tickets.

Do you know of any insurance that doesn’t have this deadline and lets you sign up even months after buying your tickets?

What do you call travel insurance? What do you expect from it? For cancellation insurance, you’ve got the one from your bank card if you paid with it and it’s Premier or Gold. For repatriation and medical assistance, you’ve also got the one from one of your bank cards, which you’ll hold during the trip.

Anything else you’re thinking of?

Hi. Thanks for your reply, but I made a mistake—I bought the tickets with the classic card. The tickets were purchased with the CLASSIC card, and the hotel was booked with the GOLD card, so it’s different.

We can’t change the situation now, which is why I absolutely need to find travel insurance that’s separate from my bank card.

Well, for medical assistance and repatriation, it doesn’t matter at all. You just don’t have cancellation insurance on the train tickets.

Do you really care that much about it?
