Thailand E-Visa Application Formalities

ZoLive2010 · 2025-06-13

Hi everyone!

I’m planning to go to Thailand for 90 days (departure on 20/06).

- I thought I’d read that the processing time for the E-Visa had been reduced to just a few days since June 2025 (so very recent). Can you confirm? However, on the embassy’s website and when I try calling them, they’re still quoting 3-4 weeks. Hasn’t this been updated yet? Because I’m starting to sweat here…🤪

- I was a bit hasty in declaring the funds to prove my solvency. Should I wait for their response rather than submitting a second visa application, which might conflict with the first one?

Thanks for your feedback! Have a great day

Hi there,

Personally, I’ve never heard that the processing time for a Thai O visa has dropped to three or four days. Maybe in some forums or Facebook groups?!!! On the website of the Thai embassy in Paris, it clearly states it takes between three and four weeks. My advice for this type of visa: start your application two months in advance to properly prepare for what comes next

Hi there

"It normally takes between 3 to 10 days for a Thai visa through the Thailand E-Visa system to get approved."

Here’s my source in the FAQ at the bottom of the page: https://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand-visa/thailand-e-visa?

Hello, The site or source you’re linking to isn’t official at all. “Thai embassy” doesn’t mean anything. Only the Thai embassies in various countries provide concrete information, especially the one in Paris, France. For the Thai embassy in Paris, it’s perfectly up to date. For example, When the visa exemption for certain tourists was extended from 30 to 60 days starting July 13, 2024, the Thai embassy in Paris announced it on July 13, 2024, not before.

Regarding the processing times for the E-visa, it’s stated in bold red letters: 3 to 4 weeks. That means there are reasons.

Hi there,

The other option is the aptly named Visa Exemption (free) for 60 days, obtained on arrival, plus a 30-day extension (1,900 Baht) that you can apply for at an Immigration office a few days before your initial 60 days expire. However, you’ll need to argue your case during check-in at CDG about the possibility of that extension. If you’re not confident about making your case, buy a low-cost flight from Bangkok to Phnom Penh or another destination before you leave, proving you’ll exit Thailand within 60 days—this can be shown at CDG check-in. (Once you’re in Thailand, no one will check if you actually use it or not.)

Hello,

The well-named Visa Exemption (free) for 60 days obtained on arrival is still an option +.

This is a "Visa Exemption" for 60 days

Hi,

6 weeks with no request for additional info/documents from the Visa Service? You really should allow plenty of time (8 weeks) to be on the safe side :/

Hi there, I can confirm that it takes between 4 and 5 weeks to get the Thai e-visa site reviewers to process your application. Also worth noting that they’ve become incredibly nitpicky, and anything can be a reason to reject your application.
