Travel companion for a world cycling tour in 2028

Hi everyone, I’m planning a round-the-world cycling trip and I’m looking for a travel companion. I’m aiming to set off in 2028 (so we’ve got time to get to know each other). The philosophy behind this long-term journey—spanning several years (at least 3)—is camping and as much self-sufficiency as possible. Hello, In 2013, you were planning a Paris to Bucharest bike trip—did you end up doing it?

Yes, I set off in 2013 but unfortunately had to abandon my bike in Italy near the Austrian border. I finished the trip by train.

I went back in 2015 with someone I met on this forum. We spent 3 months in Italy, Croatia, Albania, and Bulgaria.

Since then, I’ve been eager to go again for a longer trip. For that, I need to wait until retirement for the funding.

Hello. I also dream of a long bike trip, but I never would’ve dared look for companions on this site (or any other, for that matter). In 2028, I won’t quite be retired—unless Lecornu works miracles. But you shouldn’t always wait to live your dreams, and this year, a silly accident made me realize how quickly physical fitness and the opportunities it brings can disappear. Hi Sylvie, you’re the first to reply to my request. I’d given up hope and was wondering if I should revise my post. I’m thinking of leaving earlier, in 2027. My project is becoming more concrete.
