Weather in Cap Corse in February

Hi there, I’m thinking of visiting Cap Corse in the second half of February, specifically Rogliano. Renting a house.

I’ve been told, “Oh no, not a good time—it’s the season for strong winds, Mistral, Tramontane, etc.” What do you all think? I’m now hesitating

The weather is never the same from one year to the next. I know Corsica a bit since I’ve been there 5 or 6 times... including just once in winter. The only time I spent a whole February there was in Solenzara during my military service. The weather was nice the entire month. On weekends, we could go from the beach (no swimming!) to the snow (the ski resort in Haut-Asco). A resort that, unfortunately, probably doesn’t operate anymore these days. For a trip around Cap Corse, February shouldn’t be a problem if the temperatures aren’t too high (max 15 to 20°C, average around 10/12°C). Usually, the sun is often out. On the other hand, there’s not much going on in terms of activities—it’ll be very, very quiet. Perfect for admiring nature and almost no tourists...[;]

I’ve booked a slightly isolated house about 4 km from the coast/port with a sea view and beautiful scenery for some rest, rest, rest... a bit of walking, and a bit of sightseeing around Cap Corse. I’ve been to Corsica several times before, but always in the summer. It’s going to be great—the idea is to change the scenery!

And the idea of endless sunshine in February? Maybe, but it’s a 50/50 chance. Strong winds are also likely.

Hi there! February definitely isn’t peak tourist season, even if Rogliano is a little sheltered from the strong winds. But it’s worth experiencing to share the local weather conditions with the Cap Corsins and get a good "recharge". Don’t expect to go for a swim, though.

With a contemplative nature and more of a "hermit" vibe, I love immersing myself in nature and prefer a simple, "authentic" daily life (I live alone in a forest in the Morvan). That’d suit me just fine, I think. Everyone’s idea of a "vacation" is different. The thought of spending some time in the Corsicans’ winter routine appeals to me. I’m not going there to swim. I totally get you. Anyway, if I had to choose between summer (July/August) or February to go to Cap Corse, I wouldn’t hesitate—I’d pick February! Do the customs path from Tamarone beach to the Genoese tower of Santa Maria de la Chapelle—it’s gorgeous, and you won’t run into many people!

Yeah... thanks for the recommendation, but in France, it’s pretty much the same everywhere. And I can’t imagine Corsica in February just to sunbathe on the beach.
