Route from Olifants camps to Blyde River Canyon

Hi everyone,

I just found this map online that gives me several options for reaching Blyde via the Phalaborwa gate!! The shortest one seems to go through the south rather than the north—what do you think of these 3 alternatives, and has anyone here taken them? Feedback please, thanks for your input! Dan

Phalaborwa - Graskop Phalaborwa to Hoedspruit (I don’t know the one that cuts toward The Oaks via R530 and R36) So from Hoedspruit: either R36 R527 R532 down the Panorama Road from Blyde to Berlin Falls. That’s the most touristy route. Or: The R40, which is the main road.

Oops... oh well, if I don’t include the map, it won’t work!!

Hi, This still works: Olifants → Phalaborwa and then continue as mentioned.

Thanks Michel, I ended up ordering the road map online, so I’ll study it closely. I should get it on Monday, and I’ll try to swap the booking dates with the Balule game drive to make the trip a bit more logical and have more time. I’ll get an answer early next week too, and then the Kruger part will be sorted. All that’s left is to organize Cape Town, but that seems less complicated! Have a great Sunday and thanks again! Dan
