Which island should I visit first to discover Cape Verde?

Hi there, Which island would be best for a one-week solo trip at the end of November? I’d like to explore with a local guide who can help me discover Cape Verdean culture. It’s still just the beginning of the plan… Thanks to anyone who’d like to share some tips!

From my (recent) experience, São Vicente really appealed to us, and Mindelo is super nice. With a side trip to Santo Antão—the most beautiful and greenest island.

Hi there, I think if you want a varied and authentic first taste of Cape Verde, you can aim for São Vicente (which has an international airport) and then definitely spend a few days on Santo Antão (just a 1-hour ferry between the two islands). Plus, Santo Antão is a peaceful island for solo travel. Marie
