Are cooking facilities provided in the bungalows at Kruger Park?
SaveCheetah · 2025-08-11
It seems that cooking equipment and utensils aren’t provided in the bungalows at the rest camps in Kruger Park ðĪŠ
We’ve booked bungalows at Shingwedzi, Olifants, Mopani, and Satara.
What cooking equipment is provided for preparing meals? Is it better to bring our own gear?
Thanks so much for your feedback!ð

The description on the website varies by bungalow.
For all the bungalows I’ve tried:
Fridge, utensils, forks, etc., 2 electric burners
Kettle, etc.
We’ve never had to buy anything except a grill for the BBQ, which I leave behind when I go.

If the bungalow you're renting has a kitchen, then yes, the equipment is provided.
If it's a basic accommodation without a bathroom/kitchen/toilet, there's nothing (except usually a fridge and a kettle).
Same goes for the shared kitchens in the campsites (only electric hotplates and boiling water dispensers).
There are braais everywhere.
There’s never anything to make proper coffee (bring a *bodum* or a pour-over filter if you're a coffee drinker).

Thanks, I just checked—the bungalows rented at Satara, Olifants, and Shingwedzi don’t have kitchen utensils, only a shared kitchen. However, they all have a restaurant nearby ð
