Where to spend 3 nights between Innsbruck and Paris?

I’d love your input, please. Here’s my itinerary: We’re leaving from Quebec for Rome – 4 nights Vienna – 9 nights Hallstatt – 2 nights Salzburg – 4 nights Innsbruck – 4 nights That leaves 3 nights to place somewhere between Innsbruck and Paris, ideally with a direct connection (I’ve looked but can’t find anything—I’m hoping you can help me out ). We’ll be returning to Quebec from Paris.

It could be a seaside spot to relax after what I’m sure will be an amazing trip, but that’s not a must. We also love beautiful cities and small villages.

I’d have suggested 3 nights in Alsace, but I’m not sure there’s an easy connection between Innsbruck and Basel (then a rental car).

Otherwise, head back to Paris, rent a car, and head to Normandy: Rouen, Honfleur + Cabourg, Étretat! !

Here are my suggestions... Vianden or Echternach in Luxembourg; Luxembourg is often overlooked, but it’s a real European gem. Amsterdam by plane from Innsbruck. If budget allows, London.

Mont Saint-Michel is quite a trek, though.

Everything else is within 3 hours of Paris.

You could also head to the Somme Bay. Really nice spot—just 2 hours from Roissy.

Good evening, I’ll add a suggestion (already briefly mentioned): Alsace (rental car). At the foot of the Vosges in the wine-growing strip, you don’t need to drive far to enjoy mountains, cities, and picturesque villages. My idea comes from the fact that, apart from Hallstatt, you’ve mostly seen big cities, and this could be a nice change.

For the Innsbruck to Paris leg, I’d suggest Lausanne. There’s a direct train, then another direct train to Paris (via Geneva), and plenty to see (check out the excellent travel journal by our little mouse Miranda). It’s not the sea, but there’s the lake. Still, it’s not exactly budget-friendly.
