Hi there, Yes, it's perfectly doable. To get to Vesuvius, take the Vesuvio Express bus—you can find their website on Google, and it’s really well done. The price is around 30 €. Keep an eye on the weather before choosing your date. This bus leaves from Herculaneum Scavi station, but it’s the same line for Pompeii. Head to Vesuvius first thing in the morning for the best weather and to better understand the volcano before visiting the Pompeii site. From Herculaneum station, plan for two trips and the visit, and you can return calmly to eat in Ercolano before heading back to Pompeii without rushing. When booking your ticket, make sure to account for this time. For example, leaving Herculaneum at 9:30 AM, you can arrive in Pompeii by 2 PM, including lunch and transport. There you go!
