Geolocation on Locus Map

Smopy44 · 2025-08-29

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to get familiar with a route on Locus Map. The issue is that Locus Map’s geolocation isn’t accurate on my PC.

In the link, the red cross shows where I live, and the blue cross shows where Locus Map geolocated me. There’s a difference of about 1.5 km.

My question is: will there always be this kind of error every time I ask Locus Map to geolocate me?

From the screenshot, it looks like you're using a desktop computer, so Locus probably showed the approximate location of your Wi-Fi network or another internet source.

When you activate Locus on your phone while cycling, the app will use your phone's GPS module and provide a precise location within a few meters (in practice, 1 to 3 meters).

So no need to worry.

PS: It's best to avoid posting full screenshots online, as the list of your browser favorites reveals a lot about your preferences.

S.
