Looking for new places to see in Thailand

Hi everyone, help! My wife and I love Thailand, but after a good dozen trips, we're out of ideas 🙂 We’ve pretty much done all the islands: Koh Ngai, Jam, Kradan, Lanta, Lipe, Muk, Pha-Ngan, Ngai, Samui, Tao, Phayam, Phi-Phi, Chang, Yao Noi, Yao Yai, Phuket, and now we’re looking for a quiet spot on the mainland. Last year, we spent 15 days on the east coast in Ban Kroot, north of Chumphon, and we’re looking for something similar. Thanks for any other suggestions!

Hi,

?? I don’t get it: you say you love Thailand (10 trips) but you’ve only been to the beach...🤪 Isn’t there something off in your statement?

Well, keep going down the road, south of Chumphon, Suratthani area, Khanom, Sichon, etc. Really pretty!

Hi there, and thanks for this really interesting topic—I’ll be following it with pleasure, hoping to find some ideas for our future trips! :)

I wouldn’t presume to recommend any non-touristy spots since I think we’ve mostly stuck to well-known cities, but when you look for authentic places away from those big hubs, you find some really cool things (like around Chiang Mai—the Queen’s Garden, hot springs—or around Bangkok, with Nonthaburi, etc.). So I’ll just keep following along and taking notes!

Happy planning!

Hello, you might want to check out Cha-Am or Prachuap Khiri Khan.

When you’ve been familiar with the Thailand section for years, you realize that most requests are about the islands. Sure, those who know and love the country tend to prefer the mainland—it’s more varied, more complete, and packed with interesting sites. Also generally cheaper. But let’s put ourselves in the shoes of those who work hard most of the year in the gray routine: the beach, the turquoise sea and its sunset, the fish, the coconut trees by the water—it’s a dream that’s easy to understand.

We’ll remind the person who started this thread that every province in this country is beautiful and has a lot to offer; they won’t be disappointed.
