Oh, how interesting! I just assumed (no idea why) that you lived in French-speaking Switzerland. I’ve been cycling in Switzerland for several years now—it takes me about four to five hours to get there, whether it’s St. Margrethen, Romanshorn, Kreuzlingen/Constance, or Schaffhausen. It’s pretty comfortable. I especially love the Graubünden canton. Have a great Sunday, hgb

I really love these African posters (or awareness signs). Especially the one above. A bit childlike narrative scenes, expressive drawings, bright colors, displayed in an unexpected but clever way in a rural landscape.

Good evening Catherine, thanks a lot. I’m really happy you like these signs/posters. And there’s nothing to add to your description—it’s perfect. Personally, I especially love the photo on the topic of "girls' education": the text in Bambara and that girl with a wrap, blue plastic sandals (sooo typical!), and a schoolbag. I really struggle with French terms—whether it’s *panneau*, *affiche*, *plaque*, *pancarte*, *écriteau*, *enseigne*, *étiquette*, *label*, *pannonceau*, *placard*, *plaquette*, *poster*, *vignette*... and finally *panneau d'affichage*. Phew, I’m completely lost in my thoughts …😕 hgb

I really struggle with French terms like panneau, affiche, plaque, pancarte, écriteau, enseigne, étiquette, label, pannonceau, placard, plaquette, poster, vignette...

And to make this task even trickier, you can have fun figuring out all the different meanings of these words ;)

Aaah, I get it now— labeling people: categorizing someone (putting them in a box), judging falling for it: getting tricked, falling into a trap leaving his fiancée: hm, I know "plaquer" as in "to slick back your hair." Here, does it mean to leave or abandon?! hgb
