Prices for treks in the Banaue rice terraces

Hi, Could recent travelers let me know the price for the 2D/1N trek in the rice terraces when booking directly on-site upon arrival? Is it possible to join a group? Thanks for your replies, best regards

Hi there, These days, with all the hiking apps (Komoot, Wikiloc, etc.) and accommodation addresses easily found online, it's super easy to skip guides and agencies for a "trek" (let's say a simple hike here) that goes just a little off the beaten, overly classic, and not-so-interesting paths. For example, with Komoot, here’s the kind of easy hike you can do without an agency: https://www.komoot.com/fr-fr/smarttour/17059498 Just download the route—it’s free! You’ll find other longer and more interesting routes by poking around the apps. Local agencies, for convenience, always offer the same overcrowded and over-touristed options without much originality... I tried it once in Myanmar (it was almost mandatory), and I won’t be doing that again! P.S. I crossed this entire region on foot from Banawe to Bontoc back when there were no agencies on Luzon, paper guides were just a few lines long, and all the maps were wrong.

Good evening, did you find the answer to your question elsewhere? Or have you already had the experience on-site yourself? I’m asking the same thing (maybe for a 3D/2N trek). Thanks

Hi there. I’ve contacted a few guides... the itineraries and prices are pretty much all the same. We’re only going in February, and since we’ll be spending 2 nights in Banaue before the trek, we’ll decide once we’re there. When will you be there?

Thanks. Probably in March. I’d also like to spend 2 nights there, and one at the end of the trek, just so I’m not rushing too much. But is it nice? Can you do things on your own there? On Luzon Island, what else have you planned? How much time are you spending there?

I get the feeling that in this country, there are a lot of paid tours, but outside of that, things seem a bit tricky for tourists. It’s making me a little nervous—I might be traveling solo.
