What to visit in Chengdu using public transport?

hi, I’ll be staying a few days in Chengdu or nearby and it wasn’t planned, so I don’t have much time to figure things out. Could someone suggest some nice places to visit that I can organize on my own, preferably using local transport? My last trip to Sichuan was back in 2005, so I imagine my modest tips are completely outdated by now. At the time, I was traveling with my daughter, and we found a bus to Emeishan, where we stayed for 3 days. A guesthouse in Chengdu’s small historic district helped us a lot with organizing our trips. They even spoke English! They also arranged a getaway to Jiuzhaigou and a horseback trek in Songpan. My husband and I are heading to Gansu and Yunnan in November, fully aware that we won’t be traveling the same way...😇
