Renting a car in Dubai and crossing into Oman

Hi there, We’re traveling from 12/23/2025 to 1/9/2025 in Oman. However, our flight lands in Dubai. So I’m looking for a car rental company that allows crossing the border into the Sultanate of Oman. Thanks for your recommendations!

I don’t think there’s an option for that because I wanted to do it in 2015 and couldn’t find anything. What I did was really simple: rent a vehicle in each country. We took the bus between the two countries and crossed the border at Al-Ain to Muscat. We rented a basic car in Abu Dhabi to go to Liwa and a 4x4 in Muscat to explore the wadis. Same in Salalah.
