Lan Ha Bay Cruise (Vietnam)

Mae317 · 2025-10-13

Hello,

We’re heading to Vietnam next March and would love to do a cruise in Lan Ha Bay, which seems like a more preserved and less touristy alternative to Halong Bay. However, there are so many different companies out there, and we’d really appreciate your advice and firsthand experiences to help us make the right choice.

We’re looking for a 3-day, 2-night cruise on a small-capacity boat to avoid overly large groups.

A big thank you to anyone who takes the time to share their recommendations to help us with our search!

Have a great day! 🙂

Hi Maelia and welcome here!

My experience dates back to 2019, so things may have changed since then: we set off from Cat Ba with https://www.catbaventures.com/tours/cat-ba/cat-ba-sailing-boats-junks.html.

Since you don’t go sailing in the bay every day, I splurged and opted for a private 3-day/2-night cruise (actually 2 days since you start at noon and finish at 2 PM). Sure, it costs an arm and a leg, but we were masters of our time and our desires. An unforgettable memory! !
