Shuttle between Rome Airport and Civitavecchia

I’d love to know if there are any shuttles or other easy and cheaper ways to get to Civitavecchia from Rome Airport, which should be about 70 km away. Thanks in advance for your great tips!

1 Cotral bus per day around 3:30 PM, about 5 € one way, see https://cotralspa.it/

I’m really grateful for your quick reply, and I’ll follow your instructions to the letter. It’s for a cruise in April in the Adriatic. Since we’re leaving from northern France, we need to organize ourselves to arrive at the port on time. Thanks so much, Karl! Cloclo

thanks ;)

The wisest move would be to arrive a day early and spend the night in Rome or Civitavecchia. All it takes is a problem with the flight—weather, strike, or something else—and you’ll miss the boat...

Hi Kurtinet, We’re gonna follow your advice and arrive in Rome the day before our cruise departs. But do you have any other tips for us—maybe on choosing a hotel or things to do in the area (not central Rome, we’ve already been there)? Is it better to stay closer to Civitavecchia? Thanks again for all your great tips! Cloclo l, Aubertoise

Hi,

Maybe check out a flight from Charleroi (Belgium) to Rome.

You could take a regional train from Fiumicino to Roma Trastevere, maybe to sleep near that station, or else go straight to Civitavecchia—but there’s not much to do there...
