Travel Companions for Thailand, Cambodia, Laos

Hello,
Active and fit senior here—I’ll be in Thailand and neighboring countries for 3 months starting mid-December. I know these places well after spending many winters there over the years, but I’m not keen on traveling solo anymore, even though you do meet people along the way when you’re on your own.
I haven’t bought my flight ticket yet.
If you’d like to chat about it, I’d be happy to. Jeanette

Hi Jeanette77,
I’d love to visit Thailand (especially the north), which I don’t know, this winter (starting December 20th) for a maximum of 3 weeks. I’m still working and I’m 56.
I’ve been to Cambodia but not Laos.
Looking forward to chatting!
I’m also called Janette and I live between Paris and the 77 ;-).

Hello Jeannette, retired as well, I’m considering your proposal but for late 2026 or early 2027 since my next trip to Vietnam is already planned

Hi Jeannette,
Sure, feel free to reach out.
I hope you have a great trip to Vietnam—I loved it, especially the Mekong Delta.
Best regards,
Janette

Hello, I’m newly retired, and what a joy... I’d love to plan a trip of several weeks in Asia at the end of 2025 – beginning of 2026 (Thailand, Cambodia, and I’m going to Laos for 15 days in March 2026). Vietnam also interests me, but do you think it’s possible to see everything?
I no longer want to travel alone, but I don’t speak English...
Thanks for any feedback, *tout de bon* as the Swiss say...

Hi Brigitte, I’ll be in Vietnam from January 27 to February 15, and no! I haven’t planned to see everything, even if I’m not sure what you mean by “see everything” 😅
Since I’m traveling solo and don’t have the budget this year to hire a private driver and car, I’ll stick to cities accessible by public transport: Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat and nearby areas, Hoi An, and Hue, then back to Ho Chi Minh City to head to Singapore.
For this second trip to Vietnam, everything’s set with some flexibility!
I’m planning a third trip to focus on the Central Highlands and northern Vietnam, which enchanted me during my first visit. I’d love to find a travel companion to hire a private driver and French-speaking guide for certain parts of the trip. But that would be for 2027.

Hello
Thanks for your reply.
We can discuss it further, but for now, it’s just a simple desire that’s been nagging at me for a while, so I’m open to any discussions about traveling in Asia.
Best regards, Brigitte
