Living in Amman, Jordan, I’d like to visit Jerusalem and the surrounding areas during the Christmas season. I’d love to hear your thoughts on: - the security conditions in Israel/Palestine, - sightseeing in Jerusalem during the Christmas period.

My last trip was in August 2025. It was very quiet since there weren’t many tourists in Israel at all. If you’re coming from Jordan, you’ll probably arrive via the King Hussein Bridge checkpoint. Security checks have been tightened following the recent serious incident. Don’t forget to apply for your ETA-IL on the official website.

Traveling during the Christmas period is pretty nice. Bethlehem is the go-to destination for Christians, and the Old City of Jerusalem is also a must-see.

I’m not sure there’ll be huge crowds this year either, so you can explore comfortably.
