What are the options for traveling between Penang and Kuala Terengganu?

Hi, I'm looking for information about minibuses that might run between these two cities. I saw there are regular buses, but it's almost 9 hours on the road :-( I couldn't find any info online. Has anyone done this route before, and with which company? Thanks

Hey, there are lots of buses (the 'express' buses in Malaysia with 24-32 seats) between Penang (departing from the island itself or from Butterworth ) to Kota Bharu. It takes about 7 hours. You can find info on sites like Easybook or Redbus. If you really want a minibus, which is usually for tourists, it's better to ask at your hotel/hostel. They’re usually more expensive.

There’s a flight with Firefly that runs about every two days. Much faster and not too expensive (around 70 € last summer).
