Ferries to Spain from southern France

Hi everyone, I’m planning to drive my camper van to southern Spain in autumn 2026. Ideally, I’d like to find a ferry leaving from France (Marseille or Toulon, doesn’t matter) that drops me off as far south in Spain as possible. I’ve done some research but haven’t had any luck. Hi, I recently found out by chance that the Italian company GNV (Grandi Navi Veloci) serves Tangier from Sète. From Tangier, you can get back to Spain: Tarifa or Algeciras (about an hour by ferry, right?). If what you're looking for doesn't exist, this might be an alternative or a fallback option.

As far as I know, there isn’t what you’re looking for. You *could* take a ferry from Sète to Tangier in Morocco and then catch the Tangier-Algeciras ferry, but that means border-crossing hassles, a huge time sink, and a lot of extra cost. The best bet is definitely hitting the road. Highways in Spain are toll-free, by the way.

Hi, why bother finding and taking a ferry? The highways in Spain are toll-free. You pick your starting point for your road trip and do the rest by stopping at motorhome rest areas. There are plenty of free ones along the way (I’ve done it several times).

Hi! Last year we took the ferry from Toulon to Mallorca. Maybe from Mallorca you could take a ferry to Barcelona? Not sure if that’d interest you. One site we find pretty useful for ferries is Ferry Hopper (here’s the route Toulon-Mallorca as an example). Hope this helps! :)
