Biker companion for Nepal & Kailash trip

I'm seriously considering heading to Nepal to do some nice motorcycle loops... my goal is also to do the Kailash Yatra round trip from Kathmandu, in a small group with a guide, in May '26... but here's the thing—I'm solo! Hi, I assume you’re using an agency in KTM? Going via Simikot? Or rather via Zhangmu? (Friendship Bridge?) The latter is the only possible route by bike, and the group would probably need to be taken over by a Chinese agency at the border? It can’t be easy to manage all that! Especially since China tends to close the Tibet borders at the slightest internal issue!

Hello! For the Kailash Yatra, the most logical route goes through Rasuwagadhi and then Gyirong... The key is to form a small group in Kathmandu and find an agency that handles the trip by minibus... I don’t know how much it might cost, but if we organize it ourselves, it should be affordable and give us more flexibility... For now, there’s you, me, and another person! By arriving in Kathmandu in advance, I think we can sort it out on the spot. The ideal would be to go by motorcycle, but renting one is impossible, so I’ll settle for a few motorcycle loops in Nepal... Best regards...

When I went to Langtang in 2010, the Chinese were repairing the track leading to Tibet—it was completely collapsed in several spots. Hope it’s in better shape now because I made it on foot, but on a bike it was pretty much impossible due to all the landslides.
