Egypt e-visa

Hi everyone, For an Egypt e-visa application, they ask online: Country you’re traveling from Now, if you’re French but leaving from Italy, for example, what do you put? Has anyone been in this situation before? Thanks

Hi everyone, If you're in Italy, that's indeed what you should put, but... Forget the e-visa—it’s a stress minefield. The slightest error or IT glitch turns into a nightmare for refunds. So do what everyone else does: get your visa on arrival. It’s simple and quick. If you have an ID card, you’ll need a photo to staple onto the yellow immigration card (visa), and you’ll pay around 25 € (and if you forgot your photo, no worries—they’ll make a copy of your ID to grab the photo. Been there, done that!). If you have a passport, everything’s handled on it. So the easiest and by far the least stressful option: when you arrive in the customs hall, head to the currency exchange counters (there’s always at least one open). Either they’ll give you the immigration card on the plane, or it’ll be available at the exchange counters. Thoutmosis

Okay, thanks for the advice. Actually, I was a bit worried about losing too much time if everyone on the flight gets their visas on the spot. But got it, we'll do it on arrival. With a passport, no need for a photo then? Best regards

Hi everyone, Yes, it’s still intimidating with around 200 people at once, but many are on organized tours, so by the time they get their instructions, you’ll be through. At most, 15 minutes later, you’ll clear customs and then get your luggage. Oh, and one thing I forgot—keep your photo on you, not in your bags, because you won’t have access to them before customs. Wait, no—if you have a passport, you don’t need a photo; everything’s done on it. You’ll attach the fiscal stamp (visa) and then get the entry stamp (customs). Also, just in case, make copies of your passport page or ID card (both sides). If you’re taking trips like Abydos-Dendera or others, the driver will need copies the day before to get the police authorization. Any other questions? No problem! Thoutmosis

Hello everyone, No problem, I’m not perfect, but I’m working on it . What I mean is, when I’m not on-site and my info isn’t exactly fresh, I reach out to my Egyptian friends for general questions about Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and the surrounding areas. Wishing you happy New Year celebrations! [:P] . Thoutmosis
