Buying a motorcycle

Hello, I'm thinking of buying a used small motorcycle to travel around the country for a month and a half. I've done this in other countries without putting the registration in my name—is that possible in Guinea given the apparently frequent checks, or do I have to go through the paperwork? Thanks.

You can probably buy a used motorcycle like a TVS in Conakry, but there’s no official dealership network—it’s mostly informal, like a lot of things in Guinea. If the registration papers are under someone else’s name, it’s not a huge deal. You can always say you rented it for a while. That said, it’s best to have valid insurance.
