Arrival at Montréal Airport and transfer time to Central Station

Hi, If I arrive at YUL at 3:30 PM and need to catch a train leaving Central Station at 6:30 PM, is that reasonable or too risky for a December day?

hi there, Grüezi, it might be too tight, especially if there’s snow since it’s December. Wisdom would suggest staying overnight in Montréal and continuing the next day

Hey, It’s really tight, even though we were in July!! Your flight lands at 3:30 PM, and by the time you get off the plane, collect your luggage, and clear immigration, you’ll be in the public area by around 4:30 PM at best! (I’d say more like 5:00 PM than 4:30 PM.) Then, taking the bus or a taxi to Central Station (during rush hour) means you’ll arrive by around 5:30 PM at best (and more likely 6:00 PM), which is *very* tight for a train leaving at 6:30 PM. I don’t know what your final train destination is, but maybe you can leave from Dorval Station (next to the airport) instead of Central Station. Otherwise, like MAthews suggested, spending the night in Montreal and taking the train the next day is a good idea!

Thanks to both of you. I’m taking the *Océan* since, unfortunately, it’s not a daily train... So I’ll do things differently and take a flight to Moncton instead.

I finally took 25 minutes to get out of the airport (mid-July). Okay, I was lucky—my luggage was among the first ones. I had also done all the customs/immigration procedures online. But I still won’t tempt fate in winter 😅
