Hi, I'm looking for the best snorkeling destination from Singapore for August. Any thoughts on Tioman? Is it easy to get there by bus or taxi?

2 nights there or more? Thanks for your help

Hi there,

In Borneo, Semporna is really great. But from Singapore, you’ll probably need to take a flight to KK, then to Tawau, and finally a bus to Semporna. The journey is doable in a day—it’s not too hard to organize (though watch out with AirAsia; I’ve had flights canceled with them and never got a refund). I’ve never had the chance to go to Tioman, so no opinion on that.

Have a great trip!

Hi there,

Tioman is definitely the best choice from Singapore. The trip is easy to organize by bus (just plan for a full day for the transfer). For snorkeling, there are some really nice spots. And the island itself is lovely, with great walks between beaches and jungle. Happy planning and safe travels!

Hi,

There are also the Perhentian Islands, maybe better than Tioman. Apparently, there are direct flights to Kota Bharu.

Hi! Marie Line, Tioman is great and not too far from Singapore. No drop-offs like in Sipadan, but still beautiful marine life.
