Is there a ferry from Pam/Fam Island to Sorong?

Hi there, I’m looking for information about a ferry that runs between Pam (or Fam) Island and Sorong every Saturday morning. We’re traveling in February–March. It’s been tough to find precise details, especially whether it still exists! If you have any info on this ferry, thanks in advance! Evelyne

The ferry KMP Terubuk I runs between Sorong (Usahamina port) and the Fam Islands (via Batanta / Arefi) on Friday evenings, usually departing around 8:00 PM. The trip costs about 115,000 IDR to Fam, with an expected arrival on Saturday morning around 6:30 AM. Since schedules can change, it’s best to check updated info on the ASDP’s Instagram account.

It’s an interesting ferry I discovered back in 2018 when I stayed in Batanta. The stop at Arefi is especially useful for reaching about ten guesthouses on the north coast of Batanta, which is one of the best spots in the area for dugong watching.

Thanks Ayis for the info. We had actually planned to take that boat from Arefi to Sorong this Saturday, but in the end, we couldn’t stay on Batanta. No dugong for us! Ramsa
