Day trip to the Sarmych-Sai petroglyphs

Hi, We’d like to know if it’s easy to visit the Sarmych-Sai gorges from Bukhara as a day trip. Do homestays and hotels offer this? Thanks

We’re traveling with our own vehicle. I can’t give you an answer about a round trip in a day from Bukhara. The road is in very good condition. Summer 2024: no accommodation on-site. A beautiful valley with exceptional petroglyph sites. Don’t miss it! Depending on your interest, you could spend several hours there. Easy walking in the canyon, but avoid sandals so you can climb up to see some of the petroglyphs. Choose your visiting hours carefully based on sunlight to get the best contrast on the petroglyphs. If you’re taking a taxi, have the driver drop you off at the top of the canyon and pick you up at the bottom.
