Flight reservation pending on Booking

Hi, I made a flight reservation on Booking, but my reservation hasn't been confirmed and is still pending confirmation by the airline. It's been almost a full day now, and I haven't heard anything—I'm waiting for I don't even know what response... Will my reservation be canceled? In the meantime, I can't book another flight in case I end up paying twice... Has this ever happened to anyone? What should I do?

Yes, it happens and it can take up to 72 hours. For me, it took 48 hours. It depends on the airline. If you're worried, you can call Booking at 01 73 03 66 70. You can also check your reservation on your account via the Booking app or on your computer.

Thanks Patrick for your reply. In your case, what was the outcome after waiting those 48 hours? Did they confirm your booking? Since I made my reservation, I’ve seen prices go up, so I’m thinking it’s probably related to the price I paid.

All I had to do was wait—just go to the Booking.com site, log in at the top right, or use their app, and you’ll see your reservation, even if it hasn’t been confirmed by the airline yet.

As often mentioned, it's highly recommended to avoid any middlemen, whose only interest is to take a cut. If problems arise (and they do), you can't turn to anyone for help. Forums are full of stories about all kinds of issues, with no customer service to back you up. If you still can, I’d advise you to cancel your order yourself before it’s confirmed by bkg, and buy your flight ticket directly from the airline’s website instead.

It usually takes about 72 hours on average. After that, the agency will refund you directly if the airline doesn’t reply. Their booking is visible on the app or their account.
