Day trip to the Panama Canal

Hi, a friend will be in Panama at an all-inclusive resort and was wondering if it's worth visiting the Canal in a single day, and also which attractions shouldn't be missed. Is it better to choose a package deal? What's the recommended mode of transport for this trip? Thanks

A visit to the Panama Canal is definitely worth it, but you won’t spend a full day there. You can get there by taxi or using Uber or a similar service. There’s a museum that explains the history of the Canal, and you’ll see large ships passing through.

Otherwise, in Panama City, don’t miss the old town, the Biomuseo, the Calzada de Amador (Amador Causeway)—which is in the same area as the museum (port, restaurants, etc.)—and the Parque Metropolitano, where you can see monkeys, sloths, and more.
