I’m not entirely sure what to make of it. On one hand, it takes a load off planning your roadbook. Plus, it could help limit the number of tourists to preserve the place. A site can be something you earn. And planning your day around the reservation you scored might just be the fair price to pay.

Americans were affected by the restrictions just like foreigners. Our American friends couldn’t visit Arches NP last year because they didn’t know they had to book ahead (if they’d asked me before, I could’ve told them 😉)

So now, no more issues—I kind of get it. Living near Mt. Rainier NP and not being able to take a weekend stroll...

But that’s just my take.

If you enter the park before the reservation time, no problem. Just get up a little earlier.
