Travel Companions M/F for South America

Hi, I’d like to visit South America. I’ve always traveled solo and as a backpacker, but this time, I’d love to join a group or find a travel companion. I’m 63 and in great health. I speak fluent English. I’m open to other travel suggestions too. Thanks

Hi there, I happened to open the site and came across your message. I’ve been planning a trip to the Southern Cone for a while now. I’ll be leaving for about 2 months, maybe a little longer. Departure around mid-November. The plan is a personal part to visit South American friends, plus two other sections: one in Patagonia for a road trip and hikes, and the other in the north, in the land of volcanoes and the Altiplano. Each time, the backbone is Argentina’s Route 40, hopping back and forth across the border. For the first part, we’re already a group of 3, and we’ll be meeting up soon to prepare. For the second part, I’m still solo and looking for at least 2 travel companions since 3 is the minimum to rent a car. If you’re interested, let me know. Best, Marc

Thanks for your interest. Your itinerary works great for me. This time I’m traveling without any time constraints, but I’d prefer to avoid peak tourist seasons—it’s quieter and cheaper too. If I’m not mistaken, high season starts in November. Is it possible to skip that? Are you flexible? Thanks.

Hi there, The idea is obviously to avoid the crowds. High season runs from mid-December to the end of February, and besides, the weather in the south isn’t great before November. There are certain spots where you’ll find people pretty much all the time. In the north, the tourist pressure is lower, which is why the plan is to head to Patagonia first. The couple of friends coming for the Patagonian part will return to France for the holidays. As for me, I’ll take the opportunity to visit my friends. That’s about all I can tell you.
