Ink stain on passport: is this a problem?

I’m leaving for Japan in a few weeks. I just noticed my passport has an ink stain on the signature page. Could this cause any issues?

It’s a bit hard to say for sure, but here are at least two key points: 1) The important info isn’t visible—it’s in the chip. Identification relies on those biometric details. 2) From what I know, the Japanese aren’t known for being overly strict about the physical condition of documents, unlike some Southeast Asian countries that can be almost malicious about it. ... But ultimately, it still depends on what you mean by "stain."
