What to see in Hong Kong?

I’ll be in Hong Kong from December 31 to January 3, 2027.

Any recommendations for things to see or do?

I’ll be staying in the Kowloon district.

I’d love to visit Lantau Island—what’s the best way to get there? And would you recommend buying a skip-the-line ticket for the cable car? Also, is there an entry fee for the Big Buddha?

Hi, All tickets can be bought on the spot without any issues. We took bus 23 to get up to the Big Buddha, and the boat shuttles to reach the island—you can also take the bus.

If I take the ferry, is it walkable between the ferry stop and bus stop 23, or do I need to take a taxi?

Last time we took the bus from Kowloon to Tung Chung station, then you’ve got bus 23 that goes up to the Big Buddha. Price-wise, it’s super cheap compared to the cable car, which is way overpriced.
