Biking in Europe: How to ship a bike without disassembling it?

MathieuPastu · 2026-04-04

Hi there,

I’m planning to bike back from Poland this summer. Does anyone know a way to ship it there without having to take it apart? Otherwise, it’s a real hassle to fine-tune all the settings before departure! Thanks in advance.

It's not easy to find a carrier for a bike from France to Poland, and what about the delivery location while you're not there yet?

Alternative: buy a folding bike equipped for touring—even if you're not an athlete, you can easily cover ~60 miles/day, and it allows you to take it with you on a plane or train (for example: overnight train from Paris to Berlin, then a daytime train to Poland).

For reference, I’ve toured for years with a Brompton, with no issues as long as I stayed under that distance and avoided too much elevation. Beyond that, it’s better to look at more high-performance folding bikes like Birdy, Ahooga, Vello, or BikeFriday.
