Travel companions for Sicily in May/June or Vietnam in September

I’m a 70-year-old retiree looking for two or three travel companions to visit Sicily, which I haven’t been to, in May or June. I’m also planning to visit Vietnam in September. I love exploring, learning, and meeting new people, and I’m adaptable, but it’s not easy to find people with the same interests. Team spirit is important to me. I travel on a mid-range budget. Hi Maryse, For a first-time discovery, there are some truly beautiful stops to consider in Sicily. Around Palermo, the Norman Palace and the Cathedral of Monreale are stunning and help you better understand the island’s incredibly rich history. Further south, Agrigento and its Valley of the Temples are impressive, especially if you love heritage and ancient civilizations.

I also really enjoyed central Sicily with Piazza Armerina and its famous Roman Villa of Casale, then Caltagirone and its beautiful Staircase of Santa Maria del Monte (check out this great restaurant here). These spots are perfect for taking your time to explore and connect, far from rushed tourism.

And if you enjoy combining cultural discoveries with culinary delights, Ragusa is also a fantastic idea—it has an authentic vibe and great places to taste Sicilian cuisine.

Don’t forget Selinunte and Segesta, two fascinating sites if you love ancient history and wilder landscapes.

May or June seem like excellent choices: pleasant weather, a more relaxed pace, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the places and meet people.
