If you had posted your story right here: - You wouldn’t have had to hustle to get it noticed, - You wouldn’t have had the indecency to promote it on a forum you’ve never otherwise engaged with, - You would’ve received comments, thanks, and other praise from fellow forum members, which would’ve helped it get even more attention, - Its existence could’ve been mentioned in "Also to discover about Mexico" like the others at the bottom of this page and to the right of the Mexico section, - Reading it might’ve drawn follow-up questions from future travelers to Mexico, - If it’s good, it might’ve even been recommended in the newsletter that tens of thousands of people receive monthly by email,

That way, it would’ve been read thousands—or even tens of thousands—of times instead of quickly fading into obscurity after just a few clicks, which is what’s about to happen. But maybe it’s not too late for you to realize what you still need to do—split it into several "episodes" because dumping it all at once like you did on your blog is boring to read and makes the reader lose interest.

If every new member is welcomed this warmly, don’t come complaining later about the drop in forum activity...

So, in your opinion, for the sake of forum traffic, we should have scruples about people who sign up here solely driven by their ego—like our blogger friend is the perfect example of so far? No way.

One of them liked it so much they told me I should post it on forums like VF (which I didn’t know about) so more people could use the experience to plan their own trip. Hi, Personally, that’s exactly how I understood it. You could’ve easily kept it to yourself, so it’s a bonus that might interest VF members, and I really don’t see what there is to criticize. I took a quick look at your "feedback" (which, by the way, is anything but "mini"), and honestly, it’s interesting, detailed, full of tips, and on top of that, very well written.
