Camping in the Dolomites
Triumphalou · 2026-07-10
Hello everyone.
I'm looking for campsites around BOLZANO (South Tyrol) for early September.
I'll be on my motorcycle with a small tent.
I've noticed that some campsites have exorbitant prices.
If you've traveled through the Dolomites by motorcycle or otherwise and camped there, I'd love any tips on places and prices where I can stay for one night or several.
Thanks to all of you, and happy travels.

Hello,
Bolzano is one of the most expensive cities in Italy...
The funniest thing about Bolzano is the smell of sausages and smoked meats at the market in the streets, and the waitresses dressed in Tyrolean style! 😎 Nothing like the rest of Italy!
Okay, it's true that Bolzano hasn't been Italian for very long.
Best regards.

Hi Jean-Noël,
I’ve never been to Bolzano or Alto-Adige, but I’ve been to the Dolomites twice.
Last year in Cortina d'Ampezzo in September—caravan, car, electricity, one person: around 26 € per day (count about 10 € more for a second person). That’s the only campsite price I remember.
I can look up my other stops if you’re interested (without the prices, which you’ll need to check online), but here’s the difference: except near Lake Caldonazzo, I’ve always stayed at altitude, at least 1200 meters, which isn’t the case for Bolzano.
Let me know if you’re interested.
