Bringing freeze-dried meat to Japan

hi everyone, we're heading out for a 12-day trek in the Japanese Alps. We're bringing freeze-dried meals like we always do. We just found out that importing meat is banned, even freeze-dried. Is that true? We already bought them. They're commercially made freeze-dried meals. Online, it's not specified that they have to be "commercially made" because you can make your own freeze-dried food. And since we've heard they're really strict in Japan, can anyone confirm this for us? thanks

Just a heads-up: dried products like meat and freeze-dried meals you bring for trekking or mountaineering aren’t the same thing.

Yes, that's true. But if the goal is to carry something nutritious and lightweight for a few days, it should work, right?
