Where to go in late October-early November for sunshine within 5 hours of Toulouse?

Hi! I’m on vacation from 10/31 to 11/7 and want to go somewhere sunny. I’m leaving from Toulouse and the flight can’t be more than 5 hours. Any ideas? Thanks for your help

Your question is both amusing and intriguing because you don’t say what you’d like to see, do, eat, or discover... or how you plan to get around in the country you’ll visit. I imagine you’ll get plenty of answers—here’s my suggestion for a short week:

A flight to Dakar is barely over 5 hours, and at this time of year, the weather is great in Senegal. A flight from Toulouse to Agadir is about 3 hours or less, but the weather in Agadir might not be reliably sunny. Marrakech could have rain, and the nights can get very cold. A flight to Athens is about the same, but I’ve never been to Greece. You could also try Corsica.

I’d avoid southern Spain and Portugal at this time—there can be heavy rains (I’ve experienced flooding there).

Otherwise, you could head to Ariège—the autumn can be really beautiful there—or the French Riviera.

And I’d forgotten that with the same airline, but from Sunday the 1st to Sunday the 8th of November, you can fly direct to Djerba for the same price!

In this case, I’m not saying anything good or bad!! My reply was clearly aimed at the author of the original question (Who’s only considering a vacation, not moving to any country, within 5 hours’ flight from Toulouse).

Oh yeah, Djerba... I spent ten days there a long time ago, and I was unlucky enough to be terribly sick (with amoebas in my intestines).

The flight to Djerba is interesting, but you don’t have to stay there. Personally, I’d head straight to the mainland—Zarzis, then the southern Tunisian desert.

Yes, the Tunisian desert. I was there too🙂 But I prefer the Mauritanian one (not doable within 5 hours of flight).

I'm currently in Cyprus—it's about a 4-hour flight from France. I’m sure the weather is still pleasant in November, definitely cooler than in August though 😉
