Agencies in Djanet, Algeria

Hi there,

I was wondering if it’s possible to join a group as a solo traveler with local agencies in Djanet for circuits like Tadrart, Essendilene, Sefar, or Tassili? If you have any agencies to recommend, I’d love to hear about them. I didn’t find any info on the forum. Best,

Fouzi

Hi Fouzi,

I was in touch with a woman some time ago who you can find on Facebook—JADE MIETTON. Check out her website and don’t hesitate to contact her. She organizes trips there and knows everyone in Djanet (she puts together a Desert Festival in Grenoble every two years).

POINT AFRIQUE ALGERIE also organizes trips departing from Paris, and you might be able to join a group. https://www.point-afrique.com/destinations/grand-sud-algerien/

Best regards, Christine

Hi Christine,

Thanks for Jade’s contact info. About Point Afrique, I know it and I’m not interested—I made it clear I want local agencies, which is really important to me. Have a great day.

Sorry Fouzi, I thought POINT AFRIQUE took pride in working with and for local agencies... There are plenty in Djanet: https://www.ihakettravels.com/qui-sommes-nous https://essendilene-voyages.com/# https://www.moulamoula-adventure.com/

And many more...

Point Afrique is a French intermediary like there are many. I don’t want an intermediary. Many local agencies already have groups of foreigners formed from Europe and don’t accept solo travelers... that was the case a few years ago, maybe things have changed... hence my question...

Maybe you can contact Nicolas and ask him the question—he’s traveling solo in Algeria with a local guide. He posted an ad on VF looking for a travel companion (I volunteered, but I’m still waiting for his reply)...

good evening Fouzi I hope you find what you're looking for

I’m doing some research and came across this young photographer who organizes trips in the Algerian desert. He’s from Batna, and I assume Nicolas will be going with him (he doesn’t give details, just says he’s traveling with Zizou Photographie)

And an agency in Algiers: https://www.facebook.com/viede.bohemes/ https://sur-les-routes-dalgerie.com/

Happy planning! Safe travels! !

Hi Fouzi, I’ve taken several trips to the Djanet desert, both solo and with small groups—we didn’t know each other beforehand but left with the best memories and great friends. I went with a local guide from Djanet, licensed by the Tassili N’Ajjer Park. Get in touch with him, you won’t be disappointed! Hi Fouzi,

It might already be too late, but just so you know, we’ve just arranged with a local agency in Djanet for a trek in the Tadrart Rouge (trek + 4x4) in December. There are two of us, but there’s no problem if someone wants to join. The trip dates are from Saturday, December 5th (Friday the 6th in Algiers—morning flight to Djanet) to Saturday the 12th. I went with them to the Tassili N’Ajjer near Sefar two years ago, and it went really well. Anyway, if anyone wants to join us, don’t hesitate to contact me for more details.
