How many days should I spend in Valletta?
Fougere1 · 2026-09-14 · Message 1 of 3
Hi there, after reading a well-known travel guide, it seems like there’s a lot to see and do in Valletta (I’m only talking about Valletta itself). That’s why I’m thinking of spending 2 days there. I don’t want to rush and would like to get a complete overview. However, I’ve noticed that some travelers only spend one day there. For those who know the city well, what do you think? (I’ve also planned the Three Cities for another day, by the way).
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Hi there, personally, I’d plan for two days without hesitation. In one day, you can already see quite a bit, but if you don’t like rushing, two days let you really enjoy the city, take your time with visits, and wander a little in between. With the Three Cities planned separately, your itinerary seems pretty well-balanced to me.

Thanks Alex, that confirms my initial instinct! So I’ve got another day planned for the Three Cities, and then two full days for the rest of the island (with a car). Gozo isn’t on the itinerary since I’ve only got 5 days total for this trip, and I’d rather explore the main island properly instead of just "skimming" everything...
Thanks again for your feedback.
